Treva Dillman was a charter member of the Progressive Mothers' Club

Treva Dillman Suter, 97, died November 19, 2016 at Bluffton Hospital. She was born November 27, 1918 in Pandora to Willis and Martha (Amstutz) Basinger. On July 5, 1938, she married Donald D. Dillman, who died February 24, 1975.  On May 11, 1985 she married James R. Suter, who died January 24, 2014.

A homemaker, Mrs. Suter also worked at Triplett Corp., Bluffton for 27 years. She was a graduate of Bluffton High School.  She loved flower gardening and was a friend to all.  She volunteered more than 2,000 hours at Bluffton Hospital and at Et Cetera Shop in Bluffton.  She was a charter member of the Progressive Mothers’ Club and attended meetings for over fifty years.

She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton, and its Fellowship Guild.  She also worked on the church’s funeral committee for over ten years.

Survivors include a son, James D. (Diana/dec.) Dillman of Bluffton, a daughter, Marylin J. (Richard) Basinger of Bluffton and a daughter Diane M. (James) Elshire of Wapakoneta, two grandchildren, Barbara L. Koziara of Orlando, FL, and David N. Basinger of Atlanta, GA, three great-grandchildren, Michael, Katie and Will, two stepsons, Fred Suter and John Suter, a stepdaughter, Barbara Suter, and six stepgrandchildren.  She was preceded in death by Vernon, Emory, Gerald and Leland Basinger.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton.  Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesdy, Nov. 23, at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Pastors Wanda Stopher and George O’Reilly will officiate.  Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton, following the service.
