There’s a 2017 Bluffton calendar ready to go on your wall this Christmas.

It has some fantastic Bluffton scenes (plus some great photos taken elsewhere) all taken by Bluffton photographer Jamie Nygaard.

The project that started out as a fundraiser turned into a unique Bluffton Christmas gift opportunity that will last 365 days.

“Our son, Eden, will be in the May eighth grade trip to Washington, D.C.,” Nygaard said. While there are several school fundraisers to help pay for the trip, those won’t be enough to fund the trip.

“I spent time praying about the idea, and low and behold, the Lord spoke to me in the shower - no joke - and told me that I should make a JB Nygaard Calendar of some of my shots that I have taken throughout this year doing my 365 photo challenge,” she said.

And, that’s exactly what she did.

“I reached out to a couple friends – Randa Kinn and Rebecca Oaks – to help me find fitting scriptures for the images and was blessed by some minor assistance from Alison King in the layout of my wording in the scriptures,” she said about how the calendar came into focus.

Nygaard then took some pre-orders to find out the demand for calendars.

She quickly learned that she could easily sell 100 calendars. So she placed an order for 200 calendars.

Here’s an overview of the calendar’s images:

January – An old truck located in front of Junk and Disorderly on Cherry Street
February – A Shifferly Road scene.
March – A second Shifferly Road scene taken at a different time of the year from the February featured photo.
April – A spring scene taken on Lawn Avenue.
May – Jamie and Christian’s daughter, Eva, in a field of dandelions.
June – An early morning scene from a family vacation at Lake Dianne in Michigan.
July – A Holland, Michigan, family vacation scene.
August – An Allen County Fair scene.
September – Nygaard’s first attempt at trying to photograph lightening, taken near the AT&T Tower.
October – A photograph of Motter Metro Park on Columbus Grove Road.
November – A late morning fog scene at the village park.
December – A bridge on the Bluffton University campus. Nygaard said that the day she took the photo, there was a Hoar Frost. It was minus 20 degrees outside.
