Rohde named HCAC Player of Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Senior guard Austin Rohde (Shelby) has been named the Heartland Conference Player of the Week after leading Bluffton to a 2-0 mark and tourney championship at the McDonald’s Holiday Tournament on New Years Eve.

Rohde averaged 19 points per game on 60 percent from the field, earning tournament MVP honors for his work in the Sommer Center. The senior was perfect from the charity stripe (6-6), and also averaged three rebounds and two assists per game.

In the championship game of the McDonald’s Holiday Tournament, Rohde was 11-of-17 for 29 points as Bluffton rallied for an 83-79 win over Muskingum.

Bluffton will travel to Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., and the Beavers will host Anderson on Saturday at 4 p.m.
