Allison Neuenschwander was a past Beaverdam village council member

Allison Neuenschwander, 87, died Feb. 5, 2017, at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton.  Allison was born Nov. 25, 1928 in Columbus Grove to the late Hiram and Edna (Luginbihl) Neuenschwander who preceded him in death. On July 24, 1954, he married Gloria Beemer who preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 2014.

Allison was a graduate of Bluffton High School and worked construction for Miller Brothers Construction in Archbold.  He was a past co-owner of Buckeye Peat Moss.  Allison was a member of the Beaverdam Church of Christ and past councilman for the Village of Beaverdam.  He enjoyed hunting and automobiles and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. 

Survivors include five sons, Jerry (Connie) Neuenschwander of Beaverdam, Tim (Patty) Neuenschwander of Findlay, Duane (Rosie Jackson) Neuenschwander of Lima, Scott Neuenschwander of Beaverdam, David A. (Janet Schroeder) Neuenschwander of Bluffton; 10 grandchildren, Marcus Neuenschwander, Daniel Neuenschwander, Rebecca (Todd) Long, Rachel Neuenschwander, Corey (Dena) Neuenschwander, Lorie Kiene, Kevin  Neuenschwander, Tyler Neuenschwander, Jacob Neuenschwander, Brittany Neuenschwander; and eight great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Summer Neuenschwander, Laney and Emma  Kiene, Lincoln and Logan Neuenschwander, Lucy Long and Dillon Doctor.

Allison was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Cookson.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Pastors Sam Wireman and David Thompson officiating.  Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Beaverdam.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Beaverdam Church of Christ or the Lima Rescue Mission.
