Bluffton First Mennonite announces Holy Week services

Bluffton First Mennonite Church, 101 S. Jackson St., invites all to participate in Holy Week services, beginning with a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13. The service will include faith stories by the youth who will be baptized on Easter Sunday.

On Good Friday, April 14, the Bluffton community ecumenical Cross Walk begins at 11:30 a.m. at English Lutheran and ends with a worship service at First Mennonite at noon. Various members of the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association will participate and Dr. Lucia Unrau is the organist.

Easter Sunday services begin with a sunrise baptism service at 7:30 a.m. at 11261 Sugar Creek Road, Harrod. A breakfast potluck begins at 9:15 a.m. in the First Mennonite fellowship hall.

The Sunday worship service begins at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. George O'Reilly preaching on "Compelled Confessions." The service will include baptism of some of the catechism members, as well as special music by Dr. Lucia Unrau, organist, and the Chancel Choir, directed by Dr. Mark J. Suderman, and accompanied by Mike Edmiston and Don Hooley, ;both on trumpet.

Services conclude with a potluck at noon in the fellowship hall.

Rev. Wanda Stopher is lead pastor and Rev. George O'Reilly is pastoral associate.
