"The worship space plan involved renovating and flipping the orientation of our current sanctuary by 180 degrees, with two new entrances from the new addition, one ramped, into the renovated sanctuary," said Rev. Mohr.

Rev. Daniel G. Beaudoin, bishop of the Northwestern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, will preside and will preach at the service. Following worship, a reception and open house takes place in the church’s new fellowship hall.

“For the past two years the congregation has been in a building and renovation program,” said Rev. Mohr. “ With the completion of the sanctuary renovation during Holy Week, the program has been completed.”

The community is invited to join in the celebration. English Lutheran is located at 111 Grove St.

About the renovation and construction

Begun in September of 2015, the just-over 5,000 square foot addition includes a fellowship hall with seating for over 150, a serving kitchen, two classrooms, two ADA restrooms, a lounge/reception area, and an accessible drive-up entry-way from a new parking lot.

Main contractors and overseers of the project are members of the congregation: Robert Neff, architect, Rachel Crawford, interior design, and Robert Fett, general contractor. Members of the congregation completed much of the detail and finishing work.
