Elvert named assistant men's soccer coach at ONU

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Coach James Kusak, head men’s soccer coach at Bluffton University, is pleased to announce that Sean Elvert, graduate assistant for the past two seasons, has recently been named the new goalkeeper coach at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio.

Elvert is originally from Naperville, Ill., and played four years of college soccer at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, where he majored in sports management. During his playing career at Loras, Elvert and the Duhawks participated in back-to-back NCAA Division III Final Fours in addition to being Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champions three times.

Elvert recently graduated from Bluffton University with a Master of Business Administration after serving as a graduate assistant for the past two seasons. “I have to give credit to Sean for his hard work and dedication to everything at Bluffton,” Kusak said.

Elvert’s duties primarily included serving as the recruiting coordinator, training the Bluffton goalkeepers and assisting the program in all other avenues. Elvert stated, “I couldn’t be more thankful and appreciative of the experiences I have had as a member of the men’s soccer staff at Bluffton. Under the guidance of Coach Kusak, the program is heading in the right direction and possesses a bright future.”

Kusak added, “If you look at the class we have coming in, I am very excited about the future and Coach Elvert played an integral part in helping build relationships with each member of the incoming class.”

“While we are going to miss Sean’s impact on the program, we are extremely happy for him to take the next step in his coaching career. It was important to me that Sean continue within the coaching ranks, and I know he will provide a lift to the program at Ohio Northern University,” Kusak said.
