Missy Lonsway appointed postmaster earlier this spring

Meet Missy Lonsway, Bluffton’s new postmaster.

Earlier this spring when she was appointed to the position she added her name to the long-standing list in the town’s history.

Bluffton has had a postmaster since 1837 – which is nearly a quarter of a century older than the name Bluffton.  (From 1837 to 1861 our village was known as Shannon.)

Lonsway’s post office career began in North Baltimore in 2002 when she became a temporary clerk.

Since then she has managed the Toledo Central Station post office, and served as postmasters in Custer, North Baltimore and Findlay.

As Bluffton postmaster she is also in charge of the post offices in Mt. Cory, Rawson and Jenera.

Bluffton is a Level 18 post office, which gets that listing based on its size and revenue. The post office has two city carriers, four regular rural carriers, two temporary carriers and handles the Beaverdam postal route.

Lonsway is a resident of North Baltimore. She graduated from Findlay High School and  attended Owens Community College. She and her husband have three children and six grandchildren.
