Christie named HCAC Player of Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Senior KEVIN CHRISTIE (Miamisburg/Bishop Fenwick) has been named the Heartland Conference Player of the Week after leading the Beavers to a dominating 75-47 win over Defiance on Wednesday and a 73-70 come-from-behind victory at Rose-Hulman on Saturday. Christie joins Andrew Hunter as HCAC Players of the Week this season.

Christie went 15-of-30 (50 percent) for 22.5 PPG. He tallied a career-high 27 in Bluffton's stunning win over the Engineers that saw the Beavers rally from a 16-point second half deficit. He pulled down 5.5 PPG and dished out 4.5 APG with three steals for the week.

The senior captain is second in the Heartland Conference with 4.5 assists per game and his 15.5 PPG are 6th in the HCAC. Christie has been superb at the free throw line, converting 55-of-61 (90.2 percent) which is 4th in the conference.

Bluffton is back in the Sommer Center on Wednesday, Jan. 17 to close out round one of the Heartland Conference. The Beavers host Manchester University at 7:30 p.m.
