Carolyn Woodward-Early volunteered at Bluffton Hospital

Carolyn Emma Woodward-Early, 79, formerly of Jenera, died on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Home in Arlington, Ohio.

Carolyn was born on Nov. 4, 1938 in rural Jenera to Harley and Doris (Schaller) Spaeth. She married Larry W. Woodward on December 10, 1960 and he died on Dec. 23, 1992. On Nov. 4, 1995 she married Lloyd W. Early, who died on December 15, 2015.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Gregory A. Woodward. She is survived by two sons: Michael (Jill) Woodward of Bluffton and David (Chris) Woodward of Findlay; one step-daughter Brenda Pasini of Pomona, California. Carolyn had six grandchildren: Brooke (Brandon) Anspach, Morgan, Shelby (Jim Armand), Storm, Jaden and Brenden and three step-grandchildren Christopher, Amanda and Sara. She is also survived by a sister, Marjorie Heldman of Arlington.

Carolyn was a life-long member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera. She was a 1956 graduate of Cory-Rawson High School. She volunteered at Bluffton Community Hospital for many years.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, at Crates Funeral Home, Arlington, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, with Rev. Alois Schmitzer III and Rev. Matt Nowak officiating.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
