Life Flight, Mediterranean cooking slaw cutter tour and more

Spring OVAL classes at the Senior Center announced

Six new Our Version of Adult Learning (OVAL) classes planned this spring by the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, according to Tonya Meyer, director.

• Thursday, March 29 – At the Bluffton Airport, 1080 Navajo Drive, 10 a.m. – Aaron Antrim will give a program on Life Flight. Register in advance for this class. There is no fee to attend.

• Monday, April 16, 11 a.m. – Jonah Agner of The Food Store will do a cooking demonstration on the theme of Mediterranean cooking. Registration is required and limited to 30 persons at a cost of $3 per person.

• Thursday, April 19, 10 a.m. – Amy Carles of the Consumers’ Council will talk about “Where does it go: How we use and waste energy in our homes.” No registration required and there no fee to attend.

• Monday, April 30, 10 a.m. – Peter Suter will discuss “Franchise vs. Chains: A look at the business side of town.” Registration is requested and there is no fee to attend.

• Thursday, May 3 – At Bluffton Slaw Cutter, 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. - Bob Sehlhorst will give a tour of the slaw cutter, 310 N. Main St. Two tours are planned and 25 persons may attend at one time. Registration is required and there is no fee to attend.

• Monday, May 7, 10 a.m. – Della Salter will present “The Queen’s Garden. The 52-minute video shows Queen Elizabeth’s garden at Buckingham Palace. No registration or fee is required to attend.
