Musical comedy performed during May Day

May 4 and 5 in Yoder Recital Hall

Bluffton University will present the musical comedy “[title of show]” for the May Day musical on May 4 and 5.  

“[title of show]” has music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen and book by Hunter Bell. This delightful contemporary show is an original musical about writing an original musical. Premiering in the 2004 Musical Theatre Festival in NYC, and documenting its own process of creation, this small-cast show addresses themes of creative collaboration, self-doubt and the journey of following your dreams.

Tickets are currently on sale. They are $15 for reserved seats and $5 for Bluffton University students. They are available online at http://tickets.bluffton.edu or in person at Marbeck Center Information Desk; for assistance with tickets, call the box office at 419-358-3239.

Dr. Melissa Friesen, professor of theatre and communication at Bluffton, will direct the show, to be staged at 7:30 p.m. each evening in Yoder Recital Hall. Natalie Mallis, assistant professor of music, is musical director. Stephanie Titus, assistant professor of music, is the rehearsal accompanist and only musician for this small-cast production.

Erika Byler ’18 from Shipshewana, Ind., is the stage manager, and Brista Drake ’19 from Richwood, Ohio, is the assistant stage manager. Mervin Schrock of Findlay is the technical director.
