Studio 700 opens for Maple Crest elders

Chris Moser gets the first "cut"

A haircut or new hairstyle can not only enhance your appearance, but brighten your mood and make you feel more social.

Residents of Maple Crest Senior Living Village can now enjoy the benefits of professional hair care a little closer to home.  Studio 700, a hair salon exclusively for residents, held its grand opening on Monday, June 18.  The salon is located downstairs in the main building, near the patio room.

According to Chris Moser, director of resource development and church relations, Studio 700 has received much community support, with more than $52,242 provided through cash and estate gifts.  With the salon project close to reaching its goal of $63,000, Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) is seeking additional support for the remaining $10,000.

Moser mentioned the hard work of task force members, who are all Maple Crest residents and assisted with the naming, design and decorating of Studio 700, fundraising efforts and communicating progress on the project to other Maple Crest residents.  Serving on the task force were Becky Sprunger, John Allison, Hazel Rodabaugh and Jan Shields.
