“Reflections on Community Service and Servant Leadership: Then and Now”

Community service, social justice and economic empowerment topics of upcoming MLK Forum at Bluffton University

Nate Fields, a 1971 Bluffton graduate, senior organizational development consultant at Development Source International in Alexandria, Va., will present, “Reflections on Community Service and Servant Leadership: Then and Now,” at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, in Yoder Recital Hall.

Fields will discuss his more than four decades of experience, influence and witness to pivotal community service, social justice and economic empowerment initiatives in numerous countries and communities across Africa and the Middle East.

Fields came to Bluffton during the height of Martian Luther King’s leadership of the nonviolent Civil Rights Movement, which helped him galvanize his life purpose and dedication to community service, advancing social justice and the economic empowerment of poor and marginalized communities in the United States and abroad.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Forum is free and open to the public.
