Saturday is Ada's Farmers and Merchants Picnic

Parade, tractor pull, kid's games, food, entertainment

FROM ADA ICON - It’s the second weekend of August. That means it’s time for the Farmers and Merchants Picnic. This year is the 106th annual picnic, held at the Ada park. And, as always, the schedule is full of family-oriented activities.

Saturday, Aug. 10, schedule:
8 a.m. – OWHA show including contest, halter and performance classes
9:30 a.m. – Parade starts on West Lincoln to Main and on to the park
     Line-up starts at 8:30 a.m.
10:30 a.m. – Main stage, welcome and crowning of the Little Prince and Princess
11 a.m. – Pedal tractor pull for youth, sponsored by the Ada Kiwanis Club
1 p.m. – Cornhole tournament
1 to 8 p.m. – Ada Municipal Pool free swim, compliments of Ada Lions
   (Weather permitting)

All day entertainment
• Chain saw carving
• Casino wheel
• Bingo
• Sand art
• Plinko
• Rides and games for youth

All day events
• Merchants booths
• Arts and crafts
• Face painting
• Glitter tattoos
• Ring toss, sponsored by Ada Rotary Club
• Hourly door prizes with main drawing at 6:30 p.m.

All day food
• Hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, chicken noodles, pulled pork, walking tacos, potato salad, homemade pies, ice cream, caramel apples

8 a.m. – Gates open
10 a.m. – Session 1
6:30 p.m. Session 2
   Six Hardin County classes
   Six OTSPA pull classes
