PAULDING - The fast-starting Bluffton boys soccer team netted three goals in the first eight minutes and cruised to a 7-0 victory at league foe Paulding Thursday evening.

The blowout win lifted the Pirate record to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in Northwest Conference action. The winless Panthers fell to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the NWC with the defeat.

In two league matches, the Pirates have outscored their opposition 14-0. Their five-year league win streak now stands at 22 matches.

Bluffton's Simon Derstine scored in the second and eighth minutes, sandwiched around an Asher Antrim score in the fifth minute, to build an early 3-0 margin.

Jayden Mays advanced the lead to 4-0 with a goal in the 13th minute. Jonathan Schriner and Jude Spallinger tallied back-to-back goals in the 37th minute to make it 6-0 at halftime.

The Pirates added the final score on an own goal five minutes into the second half to provide the final margin of victory.

Bluffton dominated so completely that Paulding only got one shot off, and none on goal. The Pirates fired 14 of their 26 shots on goal.

Bluffton plays at Jonathan Alder Saturday at noon.
