Celebrate Library Week Feb. 4-6

Celebrate the Library Week
Bluffton University’s Musselman Library will host its seventh annual Celebrate the Library Week, Feb. 4-6. The week is a time for discovery and community for students, faculty, staff and emeriti. The goal of this week is clearly stated in its tag line: “Celebrating Student Research and Creativity.” The week includes a variety of activities such as the First Tuesday Forum, a health and wellness expo and a research fair.

First Tuesday Forum at the library

Timothy Bender will present, “Power and Polity: LGBTQ Inclusion and the Concept of Variance in Mennonite Church USA.”

Bender, a senior history and Bible and theology double major, will report on his departmental honors project that explores how different Mennonite conferences and congregations framed their responses to LGBTQ inclusion.

Health and wellness expo
10 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 5, Musselman Library Reading Room

Student scholars in dietetics, nutrition and wellness will share informative displays, practical advice and free food samples.

Research fair

This poster-session-style event will showcase the work of Bluffton University students; presentations exemplify student research in a broad sense, including traditional research presentations, projects, internships and creative work. Presenters are nominated by members of the Bluffton University faculty.
