In Ada you can read The Icon and eat it too! Introducing the Ada Icon cinnamon bun

In Bluffton you may read the Bluffton Icon and drink it, too. Common Grounds' house blend carries the name Bluffton Icon.

And, now in Ada, you may read the Ada Icon and eat it, too. Bluffton resident Sherry Welch, employee of Northern on Main, Ada's coffee house, holds a tray of Ada's most popular bakery item - newly named the "Ada Icon cinnamon bun."

Naming of the bun commemorates the second anniversary of the Ada Icon's existence. It launched on the Ides of March in 2012.

The eye has it

Amber Edson, Cory-Rawson eighth grader, is the artist of this realistic eye. Icon viewers can see the eye in the Bluffton Public Library during student art month. Several art works by Bluffton and Cory-Rawson students are on display.

"Extra! Extra" BHS spring musical tickets now on sale

"Extra! Extra" is the title of the spring's Bluffton High School music. Performances are Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 6 at 2 p.m. in the middle school cafetorium stage

The book, music and lyrics are by Steve Cooper.

"Extra! Extra!" Sing all about it in this witty fast-paced musical revue that examines every human foible, failure, fact and fiction that’s fit to print.

University students spend spring break in Illinois tornado cleanup

While some college students migrated to Florida beaches for spring break, a group of Bluffton University students braved zero-degree temperatures in Illinois to serve others.

Members of Shining Through, Bluffton’s music ministry team, spent a day sorting through snow-covered debris from a home destroyed by a November 2013 tornado in Washington, Ill.

Ashley Litwiller, a Bluffton junior and student coordinator of Shining Through, is an Illinois native who knew of the devastation the tornado had caused. “I knew that there was still some work to be done,” she said.

BHS students' chance to donate blood on Thursday

Bluffton’s next American Red Cross blood drive is from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursday, March 20, in the new gym at Bluffton High. All donors receive a t-shirt.
