Bluffton Swim Club 8th of 26 teams at LCC Invitational

Riley Verb wins 100 meter breaststroke with a time of 1:04:17

The Bluffton Swim Club participated in the LCC Holiday Invitational on Dec. 29 at the Lima YMCA. There were 26 high schools at the swim meet. 

The top three teams were Wapakoneta, Ottawa-Glandorf, and Lima Shawnee.  Bluffton finished in eighth place out of 26 teams. 

Bluffton individual results
• Landon Armstrong finished with a fifth place in the 200 meter medley relay, seventh place in the 200 meter freestyle, 10th place in the 100 meter freestyle, and seventh place in the 200 meter freestyle relay. 

• Ellie Hoffman finished with a seventh place in the 200 meter medley relay, eighth place in the 200 meter freestyle relay, and 13th in the 100 meter breaststroke. 

• CJ McCall finished with a fifth place in the 200 meter medley relay, 17th place in the 200 meter freestyle, 14th place in the 100 meter butterfly, and fifth place in the 400 meter freestyle relay. 

• Allison Diller finished with a seventh place in the 200 meter medley relay, eighth place in the 200 meter individual medley, eighth place in the 200 meter freestyle relay, and ninth place in the 100 meter breaststroke. 

Riley Verb finished with a fifth place in the 200 meter medley relay, second place in the 200 meter individual medley, seventh place in the 200 meter freestyle relay, and first in the 100 meter breaststroke with a time of 1:04:17.    

The following student athletes competed for the Bluffton: seniors Olivia Barnes, Simon Derstine, Ellie Hoffman, and Celia Smith, sophomores Landon Armstrong, Sam Derstine, Allison Diller, CJ McCall, and Riley Verb, and freshmen Ella Armstrong, Tyler Cupples, Jacob Lehman, and Izzy Stechschulte.
