Bluffton schools will reopen for 2020-21 on Monday, Aug. 31, and reopening plans are posted on the school's website.  The information on the website follows below.

Also attached at the bottom of this story is a five-page "Allen County Schools Common Reopening Agreement." It addresses:
• When a student/staff member has been diagnosed with covid-19
• Student and staff health issues not related to covid-19
• Food services
• Classroom occupancy
• Remote learning
• Visitors/volunteers/parties/field trips
• Transportation
• Recess

Village income tax quarterly estimates due July 15

2020 Quarterly dates were adjusted due to impacts on businesses and individuals related to covid-19 effects on the U.S. economic this winter

You may need to get out your checkbook.

In case time slipped away from you, the Village of Bluffton’s April 15 and June 15 estimated quarterly tax payments were extended to Wednesday, July 15, and that date looms on this week’s calendar.

Quarterly payments are due to the village when taxpayers owe more than S200 in non-withheld income tax. The quarterly payment program is new this year.

Free admission to Friday and Saturday's pool party

Riley Creek Arbor is sponsoring two  free pool admission events for the first 125 people at the Bluffton Community Pool later this month.

Here’s the plan:
Friday, July 17: noon to 8 p.m.
Saturday, July 18: 1 to 6 p.m.

Riley Creek Arbor of Gleaner Life Insurance Society regularly supports the local community through monetary and volunteer efforts. The Arbor consists of members from Bluffton, Lima and surrounding communities.

This 2002 classic Pirate photo serves several purposes.

First, it is part of our Historical Bluffton photo series. The problem is we don't have the the names of these fine young men. We do know that the photo was taken during the 2002 Bluffton HS homecoming parade.

Get your supplies from the library and plan to watch Thursday's Zoom presentation

Bluffton Public Library's  friend Mai Hirashita, Japanese Outreach Initiative (JOI) Coordinator for BGSU, will lead a live teaching session of origami for all ages on the library's Zoom this week.

Tune in to the live stream on Thursday, July 16, at 10 a.m. via Zoom. To register and receive instructions, email psc@blufftonpubliclibrary.org.

Participants may complete your Origami craft and ask Mai questions along the way
