When to go to a Primary Care Office vs Urgent Care Center vs Emergency Department

Health care needs occur at all hours of the day and night. This article is meant to provide helpful information that can be used when determining if you should schedule an appointment with your primary care physician or need more immediate care by choosing a nearby urgent care or hospital emergency department.

Primary Care Offices: Patients are provided with ongoing medical needs, the ability for continuation of care and treatment options. Patients who seek care at their doctor’s office will need to call and schedule an appointment based on available openings.

Screening examinations

During COVID-19 pandemic

During the COVID-19 pandemic, which has lasted the better part of a year now, many things have been postponed, cancelled or rescheduled. Family gatherings, vacations and sports are just a few examples of things that may have been put off for another time. To register, call 419.369.2323 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are a limited number of vaccines available, therefore vaccines will be given on a first call, first-served basis. A caregiver or loved one may make an appointment on behalf of a patient.

Call 419-369-2323 to schedule a vaccine at the hospital

Bluffton Hospital asks persons calling to schedule a vaccine on the special vaccine number to please use the new "369" Bluffton phone prefix when calling the hospital.

The correct phone number is 419-369-2323.

It is easy to confuse this number with the older "358" prefix, which is incorrect.
