Bluffton Family Rec ends summer and gets fall planning underway

Bluffton Family Recreation is busy concluding summer programming while getting ready for the fall. Here's what coming:

Club BFR
This after-school program is for 5 to 12-year-olds and takes place from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Busing from the elementary to BFR is part of the program. The cost is $40 for members and $80 for non-members. A youth’s one-month membership is $20.

Monday to Friday, Aug. 10-14

Campers will participate in a week full of fun tasks that challenge their thinking skills, game play and endurance in the Amazing Race-themed challenge. The importance of working in a team and communicating will be highlighted throughout adventures in this race to the finish.

Daily schedule:
7:30 - 9:30 a.m. Pre-camp
9:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m. - Traditional camp
3:30-5:30 p.m. - Post camp

It's U6 soccer and 3rd-4th grade volleyball time

BFR accepting registrations until Aug. 17

Bluffton Family Recreation is now accepting registrations for its fall U6 soccer leagues, and its third and fourth grade developmental volleyball leagues, according to Amy Byers, BFR sports coordinator. 

Registration deadline for both is Monday, Aug. 17. Click here to register.

“BFR is working hard to stay up to date with the current protocols to provide a safe opportunity for young athletes to participate in their favorite sports,” Byers added.

It's Amazing Race Week

It's Wacky Water Week

The week involves everything about water. Campers will make their own slip and slide, water bed and participate in water games such as slip and slide kickball. Arts and crafts include erupting ice chalk paint and water filled pinatas.

Living and eating healthy has never been so much fun. Explore your culinary skills as campers will created their own salsa, learn basic food and kitchen safety and learn where healthy food comes from. Make and put on your chef hats as we are hands-on with our food.
