Two BFR holiday class updates

Involving SilverSneakers and sim classes

Two Bluffton Family Recreation class changes are announced, related to the holidays.

On Monday, Dec. 26, the Silver Sneakers class at is cancelled. It will resume on Wednesday, Dec. 28.

Swim classes at Maplecrest will continue as usual over the holidays from Dec. 26 through Jan. 3.

Here's BFR holiday hours

The following are the hours of operation for Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, over the holiday weekends.

• Dec. 24th 8 a.m. to noon
• Dec. 25th Closed
• Dec. 26th  8 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Note: no SilverSneaks class.
• Dec. 31st 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Jan. 1st Closed
• Jan. 2nd  8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

BFR closes at 6 p.m. due to weather

Due to the weather conditions Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, will close at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Performance training option available this winter

Matt Gillett, personal training, now accepting students

This winter, Bluffton Family Recreation offers performance training for athletes ages 12 to 18.

Programs of four sessions each are available lead by Matt Gillett.

A Developmental Program, for youth ages 12 to 14, offers an introduction to performance training and adds a sport-specific component.

A Prep Program, for youth ages 15 to 18, offers a high-performance training program covering all aspects of athletic performance.

Registrations now accepted for Jan. 16 Columbus Crew winter camp

For youth ages 5 to 14 at BFR

Columbus Crew Soccer Club will hold one of its winter camps at Bluffton Family Recreation in January.

The one-day camp is Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, from 9 a.m. to noon. It is open to youth ages 5 to 14. Registration is $75 per youth.

Camps will focus on player development through a core foundation of soccer skills and a challenging learning environment.  A wide range of technical training will be included such as dribbling, passing, controlling and finishing.
