Registrations remain on for BFR's July classes

Everything from T-Ball, bike camp, Camp Laffalot and even coed softball

Registration remains open for several Bluffton Family Recreation classes in July, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

Writer's camp, Play the Day Away, and Adventure camp coming to BFR

Mini-camps offered in June, July and August

Three Bluffton Family Recreation mini-camps are planned for youth, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director. Here are the details:

Writer’s Camp
Wednesday-Thursday, June 6-7
1 to 3:30 p.m.
Ages 8 to 12

Enhance your writing skills. Campers will learn from guest speakers, write their own poems, enjoy snacks and take home a writer’s kit.
$15 for BFR member; $30 for non-members.

Still time to register for next week's BFR summer camp

Theme: Exciting world of sports; for ages 5 to 12

Bluffton Family Recreation’s first week of summer camp is Tuesday, May 29 to Friday, June 1.

This week’s theme: Exciting world of sports. Counselors will use a variety of drills and games to help campers experience many types of sports. Campers learn in an environment that emphasizes teamwork, positive attitudes and good sportsmanship.

BFR opens registration for T-ball

Games played at village park July 10 to Aug. 9

Bluffton Family Recreation is taking registrations for summer T-ball, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

T-ball is open to youth ages 5, 6 and 7. Games are played at 6 and 7 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Bluffton village park from July 10 to Aug. 9.

The cost per player is $30 for BFR members and $60 for non-members. The registration includes a t-shirt.

Strider bike camp at BFR July 23-27

For youth ages 2 to 5

Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, will hold a Strider Bike Camp at 6 p.m. each evening from Monday to Friday, July 23-27, according to Daniel Tinch, executive director.

Registration is now underway for youth ages 2 to 5. Registration closes July 8.

“The camp develops confidence in youth bike riders in five short lessons,” said Tinch. “The camp jump starts children’s growth and development and is an excellent way to keep kids active and health.”

BFR invites you to Community Day on Tuesday

Barbecue, dodge ball, obstacle course, meet summer camp counselors, door prizes

Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road, plans a Community Day Tuesday, May 22, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director. All events are open to the public.

Events include:
• Bubba C BBQ, outside for dinner, 3 to 7 p.m.
• Dodge ball open games, 3 to 5:30 p.m.
• Meet summer camp counselors, 5:30 to 7 p.m.
• Knockout tournament, 6 p.m.
• Kids’ obstacle course, 3 to 7 p.m. in the area
• TRX demonstration, 7 p.m.
• Outdoor games on BFR lawn
• WFIN radio will be at BFR from 3 to 7 p.m.
