BLUFFTON, Ohio - After an 0-2 start on the road, the Bluffton University men’s basketball squad tipped off for the first time on their home court against the Ohio Midwestern Rams. The Beavers jumped out to a hot start and never looked back as they marched to a 79-58 win, moving to 1-2 on the season.

Seven university students attend MEDA conference in Canada

Lessons on community, business and leadership merged this year during the annual Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) conference in Vancouver, Canada.

During the conference, seven Bluffton University students, including Wyatt Baer, a senior accounting major from Marshallville, learned how business majors can leverage their strengths to improve society.

The students were also able to network with business professionals and community leaders also in attendance.

Sheerer named HCAC Player of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Senior Macey Sheerer (Bucyrus) has been named the Heartland Conference Player of the Week following a stellar opening weekend in Chicago, Ill.

Sheerer hit 14-of-26 (53.8 percent), including 5-of-11 (45.5 percent) from distance, as the Beavers went 1-1 at the North Park Tip-Off Tournament. She led the Beavers to a 67-66 win over #7 Ohio Northern on Friday night. Sheerer averaged 19 PPG, 5.5 RPG and 3.0 assists per game for the Beavers.

Christopher Harnish top place finisher in university math contest

Sixty-five students from 17 high schools across the state recently took part in the 15th annual Bluffton University Mathematics Competition. During the one-hour competition, students completed a test consisting of short-answer questions covering a range of math topics through precalculus. Cash prizes were awarded to top finishers. 

 

Top finishers included:

1st place overall: Christopher Harnish, Bluffton High School 

2nd place overall: Benjamin Heck, Liberty Benton High School 

1st place junior: David Stirn, Shawnee High School
