Two Bluffton area open houses on Sunday hosted by CCR Realtors

Two residential open houses take place on Sunday, Nov. 16, in the Bluffton area, according to Kate Shulaw, CCR realtor.

• 1 to 3 p.m. at 137 Villanova Dr., Bluffton. The four-bedroom residence is on 0.48 acres 

• 3 to 5 p.m. at 10100 E. Lincoln Highway. The three-bedroom residence was built in 2014.

Cherne makes $10,000 donation to West Ohio Food Bank

 Cherne has donated $10,000 to the West Ohio Food Bank as part of the work it is performing at Potash during the current turnaround. Cherne provides the funds based on the number of hours worked by the union members they have hired from the Lima Building & Construction Trades Council.

Blanchard Valley Hospital was honored with an “A” grade in the Fall 2014 Hospital Safety Score, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from errors, injuries and infections. The Hospital Safety Score is compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading experts on patient safety and is administered by The Leapfrog Group, an independent industry watchdog.

New Leaf Landscape/Garden Center, Ada, has Christmas open house Saturday

New Leaf Landscape/Garden Center, 0395 State Route 235, Ada, will hold its Christmas open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 15.

The event includes a Christmas decorating demonstration from 10 to 11 a.m. There are open house specials, refreshments  and door prizes.

Groves Heritage and Bears now open; special event on Saturday

Groves Bears is now open, better stated, re-opened for business.

After a change in ownership, the teddy bear and antique store at 204 N. Main St., has officially reopened as Groves Heritage and Bear store, according to Eric DeWitt, store manager. Chris Honeyman is co-manager. The new owner is Dr. James Gideon.

In celebration of its re-opening the shop has a Steiff event on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A special Steiff program takes place at noon.
