Mustard Seed Cafe now open four nights a week; has new menu

There are new hours and a new menu at Mustard Seed Café, 562 N. Main St., Bluffton. The cafe is now open four nights a week. 

The restaurant is now open:
• Monday 11 – 3
• (Closed Tuesday)
• Wednesday & Thursday 11 – 8
• Friday & Saturday 9 – 8
• Sunday 9 – 3

New additions to the lunch menu include Chicago Style Hot Dog, Baked Tortellini, Autumn BLE (bacon, lettuce & egg) and Cobb Salad on Wedge.

Northwest Physical Therapy raises $2,800 to benefit Parkinson's

Northwest Physical Therapy held its Fifth Annual Poker Run 5k October 25th at its Ottawa office, raising $2,800 to benefit the Parkinson Foundation of Northwest Ohio.  Runners and walkers enjoyed door prizes, refreshments and a Halloween costume contest after the race. 

Wanda Dean, owner of NWPT, said "We are so grateful for the support from our sponsors and the community to help raise this money for such a great cause."

Port Authority sells Ranger Building

The sale of the Ranger Building at 220 – 224 N. Main St., in downtown Lima was approved Oct. 27 by the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Allen County, according to Marcelyn Boone, chair of the Port Authority Board. 

Sandra J. and James E. Monfort, of 1937 Wendall, Lima, are purchasing the building for $50,000.  The transaction is expected to be completed before the end of the week.

Cash mob year-end party at Southgate Lanes 3-5 p.m. Oct. 29

It's a party at Southgate Lanes and you are invited.

The final Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce cash mob of 2014 is from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Southgate Lanes bowling alley, 9700 Dixie Highway Bluffton.

"This cash mob is a bit different from our previous nine events," said Fred Steiner of the chamber. "It's cash mob year-end party."

Local union and companies win national safety award

Husky Energy, RMF Nooter, and the Lima Building Trades Council were presented with the prestigious Zero Injury Safety Award (ZISA) during the National Maintenance Agreement Policy Committee’s annual gala in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 23.

RMF Nooter, Husky Energy and the Lima Building Trades received the ZISA Certificate of Merit for working 87,875 hours on the Nox SCR Piping Project at the Husky Lima Refinery in 2013 without an OSHA recordable injury.
