Trinity midweek Advent service Dec. 7

The second Advent service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7. The theme is "He Comes the Messiah Long Foretold" and Pastor Jeff Bolwerk's message will focus on Jesus as our High Priest. The choir will sing "A Star of Jacob."

First Mennonite Senior High Youth taking Christmas candy orders

Senior High Youth of First Mennonite, Bluffton, are taking orders for Christmas candy. Youth are offering the following:

Buckeyes, $5 a dozen
Turtles, $5 a dozen
White chocolate peppermint bark, $4, appx. one-third pound
Chocolate covered pretzels, $4 appx, one-third pound
Dark chocolate Christmas clusters, $4 a dozen

The deadline for orders is Dec. 12. Orders may be picked up on Sunday, Dec. 18 following the morning worship or following the children's Christmas program that evening.

Christmas for Kids Saturday at Trinity Lutheran

Christmas For Kids will be held at Trinity Lutheran School, 105 Allen Street, Jenera, on Saturday, Dec, 3 from 1 to 4:30 p.m.

The program will provide children in Pre-school through 4th grade a special opportunity to hear the real message of Christmas, along with Christmas crafts, music, refreshments and fun.

Special music of the season planned in December at Bluffton Presbyterian

What do you do with 10 trumpets on Christmas Eve? Dave Sycks will be writing a special arrangement of "O Come All Ye Faithful" for Bluffton Presbyterian's large rank of trumpet players to perform during the instrumental prelude at 6:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

At 7 p.m. there will be a program of Lessons and Carols performed by the Choir, Praise Team, and soloists, followed by candle lighting.

Trinity Lutheran welcomes Advent with Nov. 30 service

The beginning of Advent will be observed with a special service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov 30.

The theme is "He Comes the Messiah Long Foretold" and Pastor Al Schmitzer's message will focus on Jesus as our Prophet. The students in Grades 3-4 will sing.

English Lutheran host to Dec. 1 community meal

The 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, Bluffton community meal will be hosted by the people of English Lutheran Church. The meal is at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, 132 N. Main St.

The meal is open to the public. The menu includes barbecue beef and shredded chicken sandwiches, baked beans with vegetbales, casseroles, soups, desserts and refreshments.
