Trinity United Methodist pancake breakfast, coat give-away Nov. 12

Bluffton Trinity United Methodist's annual coat give-away is Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon at the church located on State Route 103, rural Bluffton.

A pancake breakfast will be served during the event.

Anyone wishing to donate coats may drop them off at the following Bluffton locations:

  • Community Market
  • BFR
  • Bluffton Public Library
  • Luke's
  • The Sports Warehouse

Ebenezer Mennonite holds 48th annual festival of missions Nov. 13-20

The 48th annual Festival of Missions will be held Nov. 13-20 at Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton.

The theme this year is: "Jesus, You are Worthy,"based on Revelation 5:9."

"....You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation."

First United Methodist Church hosts Election Day meals

Bluffton First United Methodist Church will be hosting an Election Day lunch and dinner on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu consists of homemade soups, sandwiches, salads, desserts, and beverages.

The dinner is served from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and costs $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 10 and under. The menu includes baked steak, mashed potatoes, vegetable, roll, dessert and beverage. Carry-out is available for both meals.

Truck and treats at Baptist Church Oct. 31

Bluffton Baptist Church will offer Truck and Treats for children during Bluffton's trick-or-treat night, according to John McMinn, pastor.

The church event will take place during trick-or-treat hours from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 31.

"We plan to park on the front side of our church along the driveway with trunk or tailgates forward," McMinn told the Icon.

"Each car/truck will have treats to dispense attended by costumed adults dressed as various role models. A crossing guard will be provided at County Line Road. Treats are free for the asking," he said.
