Trinity Lutheran VBS June 26-30

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, will hold a Vacation Bible School for children from pre-school through grade 6 on Sunday through Thursday, June 26-30 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the school at 105 Allen Street.

Using the theme "Space Station Salvation," each day will have religious activities, music and songs, crafts and a snack.

On Thursday, an ice cream social at 8 p.m. is planned. Everyone is welcome. Registration for VBS can be made by calling Pastor Jeff Bolwerk at 419-326-5331 or [email protected].

Campus Life pool parties each Wednesday evening this summer

Bluffton-Pandora Campus Life summer pool parties are underway. Each Wednesday evening parties are held at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool.

Admission is $3 each and the parties are open to students entering grades seven to 12 next fall. Pool parties are from 9 to 10:30 p.m.

Several area Mennonite churches involved in Black Swamp Benefit this weekend

Several area Mennonite churches are participants in the Black Swamp Benefit taking place Friday and Saturday, June 17-18 at the Fulton County Fairgrounds, Wauseon.

Bluffton's office part of a larger network for Lutheran Social Services of Northwestern Ohio

Note: Recently The Icon announced two new staff persons in the Bluffton office of Lutheran Social Services of Northwestern Ohio. Here is a brief history of the organization.

Lutheran Social Services of Northwestern Ohio's ministry began in response to a need for chaplaincy service identified in 1910 by the Fremont Local Conference of the American Lutheran Church.

Ebenezer Mennonite celebrates Rev. Warren's 90th birthday June 19

The public is invited to a 90th birthday celebration for Rev. Charles Warren, on Sunday, June 19, at Ebenezer Mennonite Church.

His actual birth date is Sept. 4, 1921, but his children are planning to be in the Bluffton area for several days in June.

The husband of Rev. Warren's youngest daughter, Paul Windsor, will bring a special message on June 19 at Ebenezer Mennonite Church during the Worship Gathering beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Rockport United Methodist ice cream social July 8

The Rockport United Methodist Church will hold its annual homemade ice cream social on Friday, July 8.

The menu will consist of homemade ice cream, barbecue and chicken sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad, perfection salad, pies, cakes, coffee and punch. Serving will start at 5p.m.

The church is located at 5505 Rockport Road. Everyone is welcome to attend.
