Trinity Lutheran celebrates Missions Sunday

Mission Sunday will be celebrated at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 N. Main St., Jenera, on Sunday Sept. 26.

Gary Lupe will be the guest speaker during the Bible Class time beginning at 9:20 a.m. He will speak on the mission efforts in Apache land. Worship service times are 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Bluffton's next blood drive Oct. 7

Bluffton's next America Red Cross blood drive is from noon to 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 7, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 160 N. Spring St.

Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in some states), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.

Sept. 16 next community meal

Community meals at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center continue this fall. The next meal is at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 16, at the Center. The First Mennonite Church, Bluffton, will provide the meal.

The menu consists of Vegetable Stew, cornbread and honey, and ice cream for dessert. The meal is open to the public. Donations accepted go to the Bluffton Community Assistance Program's food pantry.

The community meal program is sponsored by the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association.

Hungry for Holiness men's conference here Sept. 17-18

"Being A Man of the Hour," is the theme of an Apostolic Ministries, Inc., Farrell, Pa., Hungry for Holiness Men's Fellowship conference, held in Bluffton, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 17-18, according to Mark Neddeau, pastor of the Shepherd's Flock Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Bluffton, who is hosting the event.

The conference will take place at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 8375 Phillips Road, Bluffton.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 17, in a service open to anyone. Pastor Neddeau will preach on Friday evening.

Non-denominational Bible study offered

Shepherd's Flock Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Bluffton, is offering a free home Bible study.

"Exploring God's Word is a non-denominational study taking students from Genesis to Revelation and unveiling the method of study and proper interpretation of the Bible. It is intended to assist one in discovering the way to find and understand scripture in its proper context, and help the recipient to properly study the Word," said Mark Neddeau, pastor.

Spiritual care endowment established through Blanchard Valley Health Foundation

The Blanchard Valley Health Foundation has received a donation from the Great Lakes Conference Foundation of the Churches of God for the establishment of a Spiritual Care Endowment.

This endowment will sustain and promote spiritual care for Blanchard Valley Health System patients, physicians, nurses and associates. It will also help provide education and mentoring support for spiritual caregivers in the community.
