The Rough and Tumble perform Thursday on Town Hall Concert Series

The singing duo “The Rough and Tumble” perform at 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22, in the Bluffton Town Hall Concert Series.

The performers are Mallory Graham and Scott Tyler, from East Nashville, Tenn., and Black Mountain, N.C. Formed in 2011, they are described as stray folkies.

The duo has released five Eps and two albums. A new album, “Howling Back at the Wounded Dog,” will be released in September.

Next cars and coffee event Saturday

The next Bluffton Cars and Coffee event is Saturday, Aug. 24, at Masterpiece Signs, 902 N. Main St.

The event is an “informal gathering for enthusiasts and their cars," said Tim Boutwell. The monthly cars and coffee event continues through October. It is always held on the fourth Saturday of the month.

Each event is from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the following Saturdays:  Aug. 24, Sept. 28 and Oct. 26.

He's holding his third anual Cursive Ohio Cystic Fibrosis charity bicycle ride on Aug. 31

FROM ADA ICON - Austin, we understand you are putting together your third annual Cursive Ohio Cystic Fibrosis charity bicycle ride in Ada. Tell us about it.

Austin: The event is Saturday, Aug 31, and registration starts at 7 a.m. A 64-mile loop starts at 8:30 a.m. The 32- and 15-mile loops start at 9 a.m. Lunch will start being served at 11 a.m. 

Where does ride begin?
In the Ada Memorial Park. The entrance is at 3645 County Road 50.

New features added to Made in Ada Football Festival on Aug. 24

A demonstration of how NFL footballs are produced and an exhibit from the home of professional football are among new features that have been added to the Made in Ada Football Festival, which will be held Aug. 24.

Among new highlights that promise to be fan favorites are the “Wilson Experience,” which demonstrates the process of how footballs are made and an exhibit by the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Sunday evening MMH concert on the lawn

The Al Best Band will play at a free public concert on Sunday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.

MMH has hosted the annual “Concert on the Lawn” since 2005. The Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Service Group will serve ice cream, and popcorn and ice water will also be available. 

Special thanks is given to Don Snyder Excavating, who is the main sponsor of this year’s concert.  Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and dress for the weather.

Transition Bluffton invites community members to Aug. 20 potluck

Transition Bluffton invites the community to  join in some community building, food and music.

"Bring a locally sourced food dish, a musical instrument ....or both to the Buckeye park shelter by the pool at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20.  Bring your family and friends. Let's allow our differences to melt away and celebrate what we have in common," said Peter Badertscher of the organization.
