Free Ice Cream - BHS Drama Club fall production

Series of fast-paced humorous, family-friendly skits

Bluffton High School's Drama Club hands out some free ice cream for its fall play presentation in early November.

"Free Ice Cream," a collection of two-dozen fast-paced, humorous skits billed as family entertainment by Brett Eshlemn, will be performed at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Satsurday, Nov. 9 and 10, in the Bluffton middle school. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Blanchard River Watershed Partnership annual meeting Nov. 8

The Blanchard River Watershed Partnership annual meeting is from 3 to 5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Hancock Agriculture Center, 7868 County Road 40, Findlay, according to Phil Martin, director.

Aaron Heilers, project director for the Blanchard Demonstration Farms is the featured speaker.

Family-friendly “Spooktacular” Oct. 20

In Hancock Historical Museum’s Hull House

The Hancock Historical Museum will host an evening of fun for all ages at a Halloween “Spooktacular!” on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 5-8 p.m.  

Enjoy tours through the "haunted" Hull House, built in 1881. Sample seasonal treats cooked over the hearth in the historic Crawford Log House. Decorate pumpkins and cookies, or make a Halloween mask inspired by Findlay's own American Mask Factory.

Canadian Sultans of String perform Saturday

Town Hall Concert Series

Canadian musicians Sultans of String will perform at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, in the Bluffton Town Hall Concert Series, according to Jeff Yoder.

The Sultans are three-time JUCO nominees (Canada’s Grammy) and have charted songs on Billboard.

Folk Radio UK recently described their music as “an enthralling, adventurous celebration of the power music has to transcend geographical and cultural boundaries, and Sultans of String wield that power with grace, eloquence and spirit.”

Chamber holds business after hours - Blaze fundraiser

Nov. 14 at Bluffton Golf Club

Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a business after hours and Blaze of Lights fundraiser on the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 14, at The Mason Jar at Bluffton Golf Club, 8575 N. Dixie Highway, according to Paula Scott, chamber CEO.

Casual chamber member networking will be followed by a team trivia contest.

• 5-7 p.m. Business After Hours casual networking (open to all chamber members/guests and trivia participants)
 • 7-9 p.m. Team Trivia Competition

The evening is sponsored by Bluffton Golf Club and Luke’s Bar and Grill.

Ada chamber planning a "sweet" Oct. 20 event

Sweetest Day in Ada includes drawing for a dinner at The Inn at ONU

FROM ADA ICON - Ada Area Chamber of Commerce has sweet plans for Saturday, Oct. 20, according to Deb Curlis, chamber director.

"Come downtown to celebrate Sweetest Day on Oct. 20," she said. "Visit our shops and enjoy a special sweet treat from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m."

Shoppers may also register at the following participating businesses to win a dinner gift certficate from The Inn at ONU.
