Thoroughly Modern Millie on Freed Center stage April 19-22

The Ohio Northern University Department of Communication and Theatre Arts presents Thoroughly Modern Millie at The Freed Center.

The production will run Thursday, April 19 through Saturday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22 at 2 p.m..

Ticket prices are: adults $15; seniors $12; non-ONU students $12; children $9. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Freed Center Box Office at 419-772-1900 or on our website at www.freedcenter.com.

It takes an entire high school to put on a musical, and no one knows that better than Kevin Gratz and Kara Zink, directors of this weekend's Blufftton High School "Vaudenville Tonight."

Billed as a musical revue performances are at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14, and at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 15 on the Bluffton Middle School stage.

The musical is based upon the book by Joseph George Caruso and orchestration by Paul Curnow.

Late spring classes about to begin for youth at BFR; April 24 registration deadline for Kid's Fun Nite

The final session of late spring youth programs will begin the week of April 16 at BFR Sports and Fitness, according to Carole Enneking, director.

Youth in grades kindergarten through grade three may choose from skills classes in basketball (Thursdays), football (Tuesdays),
dodgeball (Fridays), t-ball basics (Mondays) and swim (Thursdays).

Older youth (grades 3-6) may choose to be part of the flag football program or tennis lessons (Tuesdays), swim lessons on Thursdays, or dodgeball on Fridays.

Earth Day event features indigenous music, art and culture, April 21

The Bluffton Cultural Affairs Town Hall Concert Series features "indigenous music, art and culture," in its 7 p.m., Saturday, April 21, Earth Day Concert in the third floor of the town hall, according to Wendy Chappell Dick, of the cultural affairs committee.

The program includes a program featuring a multi-media trio of Bell Acoustics, artist and photographer Carole Elchert, and didgeridoo player David Leavitt.

"Mirror Mirror" and "October Baby" shown at Shannon April 13-19

Peter Suter of Shannon Theatre announced that "Mirror Mirror" (PG) and "October Baby" (PG-13) will be showing at the theatre from April 13-19.

Show times follow:

Mirror Mirror - Each evening at 7 PM with Saturday and Sunday matinee at 1:30 PM.

October Baby - Each evening at 9:30 PM with Saturday and Sunday matinee at 4 PM.

"The Hunger Games" shown at Shannon April 6-12

Peter Suter of Shannon Theatre announced that "The Hunger Games" (PG-13) will be showing at the theatre from April 6-12.

Show times follow:

Each evening at 7 and 9:30 PM with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 and 4 PM.

The theatre will be CLOSED on Easter afternoon (no matinees), but will re-open Easter evening for the 7:00 & 9:30 PM shows.
