4th to 6th grade basketball tourneys

Early February sign-up deadline at BFR

While winter sports leagues in underway at Bluffton Family Recreation, registration is underway for two weekend youth basketball tournaments in early March.

The first is a boys’ 4th to 6th grade tournament. It takes place Saturday and Sunday, March 3-4. Team registration deadline is Feb. 4.

The second is a girls’ 4th to 6th grade tournament held Saturday and Sunday, March 10-11. Team registration deadline is Feb. 11.

Online team registration is available at www.bfronline.com or by calling BFR at 419-358-4150.

Allen County Commissioners “State of County” Jan. 15

Allen County Commissioners Cory Noonan and Jay Begg will give their annual State of the County address to the Lima Rotary Club on Monday, Jan. 15.  The Rotary Club will also hold its annual blood drive at the Civic Center that day from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. 

 

Justice, love and faith topic of Jan. 16 Forum

Rev. Daniel Hughes, Price Hill campus pastor of Shiloh United Methodist Church, Cincinnati, will present, “JUST LOVE - Justice and Love Ignites Faith in the Beloved Community,” at 11 a.m. on, Tuesday, Jan. 16, in Yoder Recital Hall.

The 2013 Bluffton graduate returns to campus to present the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Forum. This event is free and open to the public.

Rumer hits 14, Prater 13 in BHS win

The Bluffton High School girls' basketball team defeated Lincolnview in NWC play tonight (Jan. 11) 45-37. The Pirates were led by Averey Rumer with 14 and Katie Prater with 13. Pirates are back in action next Thursday against Spencerville. Click here for more details.

Funeral arrangements incomplete for Tyson Alan Sherick

 Tyson Alan Sherick, 38, of Rawson, died on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. Arrangements are pending with Chiles- Laman Funeral & Cremation Service, Bluffton.
