A winter song

Chamber now accepting arts and crafts show vendor registrations

Think spring for a moment.

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting registrations from arts and crafts vendors for this year's 43rd annual Bluffton Arts and Crafts Show.

A REGISTRATION FORM AND INFORMATION SHEET ARE ATTACHMENTS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS STORY.

This year's show, like last year, takes place on the Saturday before Mother's Day, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street. Registrations submited by May 1 are $40 per booth. After May 1, the registration fee is $60 per booth.

Book ReViews book-signing event Saturday for Mike Lackey's "Spitballing: The Baseball Days of Long Bob Ewing"

Book ReViews, 123 S. Main St., will host a book-signing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, with Mike Lackey, author of "Spitballing: The Baseball Days of Long Bob Ewing."

Lackey is a longtime newspaper reporter, editor and columnist. His book is a biography of a lifelong Auglaize County resident who pitched in the major leagues from 1902 to 1912. Ewing is a member of the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame.

Legion recognizes Americanism test winners

Bluffton American Legion Post 384 recently recognized Bluffton High School students who were winners in an Ohio Americanism test.

Lots of 2014 trips announced by Bluffton Senior Center

The Bluffton Senior Citizens and friends are looking forward to another year of traveling near and far.

Springtime will feature a Mystery Trip on  April 24 departing the Senior Center at 8:30 a.m., exploring the unusual and extra ordinary, plus a buffet lunch and motor coach transportation, all for $50.

SHANNON Service Club community garage sale Feb. 28 and March 1

SHANNON Service Club will hold its annual spring indoor garage sale Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, March 1, at The Centre of Bluffton, 601 N. Main St.

Hours are Feb. 28 from 4:30 to 8 p.m., and March 1 from 9 a.m. to noon. Admission is $1 except on Friday when it is free for those buying an eat-in chicken dinner.
