Village of Bluffton appropriations are closing in on $11 million in 2019. And, this year's total is approximately $800,000 above 2018 total, according to figures from Laura Ewing, village fiscal officer.
The 2019 total is $10,883,562, while 2018 appropriations were $10,098,038. She said that the appropriations would become official after March 27, which is 30 days after the Bluffton council approved them.
Ewing said that the growth in the village income tax has helped the village bottom line.
Community celebration of career technical education

Apollo Career Center will hold its seventh annual Apollopalooza on Thursday, April 11, from 5:30-7 p.m.
Apollopalooza will showcase the high school and adult education programs, celebrate Apollo's partnerships with local businesses, highlight Career Tech opportunities, its students and instructors. The event is free and open to the public.
Bluffton was recognized by Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown in late February, according to Susie Stratton, of the Bluffton America in Bloom Committee.
Sen. Brown sent the committee a certification of recognition for it's 2018 America in Bloom Oustanding Achievement Award.
Last year the Village of Bluffton won the outstanding achievement award for flowers. Judges scored Bluffton a 6-star rating out of a possible 10 stars and received special recognition for its flowers.
Newsletter lists activities for rural Pandora farm

The Quarry Farm Nature Preserve and Conservation Farm, rural Pandora, has several spring and summer activities planned. These range from bird watching, guided walks and additional nature-related activities. The spring family day will be Saturday, June 15, and includes visiting animals at the farm sanctuary and spotting butterflies and frogs.
