Elizabeth Gratzer, 98, was born in Hamburg Germany

Elisabeth Gratzer, 98, died at 2:15 p.m. March 20, 2013 at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born June 26, 1914 in Hamburg, Germany, to the late Franz and Elisabeth (Riess) Andres.

She retired as an auditor for a department store in Hamburg, Germany, prior to coming to the United States. She became an American Citizen in 2000. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton.

Donald Crawfis, former Rawson resident, dies in Florida

Donald L. Crawfis, 83, of Ocala, Florida, and formerly of Rawson, Ohio, died at 1:20 p.m. March 18, 2013, at Legacy Hospice House, Ocala, Florida. He was born Feb. 27, 1930, in Leipsic, Ohio, to the late Bracy and Zella (Clapp) Crawfis. He married Carol Lippert and she survives in Ocala.

Irene Miller was a Beaverdam High School graduate

Irene O. Miller, 97, died at 5:10 p.m. March 17, 2013, at Richland Manor, Bluffton. She was born May 5, 1915, in Beaverdam to the late Earl and Sylvia (Beemer) Bowers. On Sept. 28, 1935, she married Harold D. Miller and he died Sept. 19, 1991.

Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and also retired from Elder-Beerman, Lima. She was a member of the Cairo United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Beaverdam High School.

Survivors include two sons Terry Miller of Lima, Gary (Donna) Miller of Bluffton; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.

Cleora Skinner retired from Triplett Corp.

Cleora Louise Skinner, 97 died at 5:35 p.m. March 14, 2013, at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born Nov. 14, 1915 on the family farm in Jackson Township, Allen County, Ohio to the late Peter P. and Louise (Fett) Badertscher.  She was married to Forest Golden and later divorced.

She attended her first eight grades in a one-room school by the name of Peanut Center located on the corner of PeeVee and Sandusky roads. She graduated from Lafayette-Jackson High School in 1933 and Lima Business College in 1936.
