Nancy Glick taught piano and harp for half a century

Nancy K. Glick, 78, of Arlington, died 10:29 a.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Willow Ridge in Bluffton after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer.

She was born in Findlay, Ohio, on Dec. 22, 1941, to the late Eugene and LaVonda (Hilty) Zuber. Nancy married Gerald W. Glick on Dec. 26, 1964, and he survives.

Also surviving are her sons: Dean (Lisa) Glick of Arlington and Pastor David (Mary) Glick of Bluffton; daughter: Terri (Charles) Bogar of Bolingbrook, Illinois.

Carrie Miller operated Carrie's Country Corner and Miller's Ice Cream

Was a 4-H leader and summer softball coach

Carrie J. Miller, 88, died on June 18, 2020, at her residence.  Carrie was born May 9, 1932 in Pandora, Ohio, to the late Ernest and Lona (Welty) Bauman.  On June 3, 1950, she married John Miller who preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 2018. 

Carrie graduated from Pandora High School and was a homemaker.  She had also worked at Ingalls Restaurant, Reichenbach Lumber, Nickerson Farms, and owned and operated Carrie's Country Corner and Miller's Ice Cream.

Celebration of life service for Betty Jolliff on July 3

A celebration of life for Martha (Betty) Jolliff takes place 7 p.m. on Friday, July 3, at The Christian and Missionary Alliance Church Great Room at 5436 State Route 309 E., Kenton.

She died Thursday, April 23, 2020, at 9:32 p.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. Click here for her previously posted obituary.

Jacob Friesen was former First Mennonite pastor; later Bluffton College admissions director

Was a past vice president of General Conference Mennonite Church

Former First Mennonite Church, Bluffton, pastor, Jacob T. Friesen died June 6, 2020​, at Kidron Bethel Village, North Newton, Kansas.

​He was born ​on​ Dec. 30, 1919, to Jacob L. and Helena Toews Friesen, Mountain Lake, Minn. Jacob married Lisbeth Koehn of Meno, Oklahoma, Sept. 2, 1945, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 20, 1971.

He graduated from Bethel College, Kansas, ​in 1944. Advanced degrees earned include a Th.B. from ​New York Biblical Seminary and ​a​ ​Th.M. ​from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary.​

Greyden Wells memorial on June 17

Greyden Jack Wells, 2 1/2 died Thursday, June 11, after battle with pediatric cancer.
He is survived by his mothers, Beth and Jackie Wells; siblings, B. and Noah Taylor; host brother and best friend, Niladri Aich; grandparents, Jack and Kathy Wells, Scott and Kim Helberg, Randall and Deborah Gross; great-grandparents, Jerry and Barbara Johnston, as well numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Paul Pursell was a 45-year Ford employee

Paul R. Pursell, 89, died on June 9, 2020, at 11:20 a.m., at his daughter's home, surrounded by his family.  

Paul was born July 26, 1930, in Gomer, to William and Nola (Wegley) Pursell who both preceded him in death. On Dec. 24, 1963, he married Pauline "Polly E." (Shaw) Pursell who preceded him in death on Oct. 11, 2013. 

Paul attended Bluffton High School. He was a 45-year retiree from Ford Motor Company.
