American Heritage Girls Troop finishes first full year

Bluffton’s American Heritage Girls Troop OH2505 finished their first full year in May.

Where do you attend school and what are you studying?
I am entering my third year at The University of Toledo where I study Public Health.

Bluffton has never been the same since the Golden Swingers left town

You may consider yourself a swinger, but area you a "golden swinger?"

As the Bluffton Senior Center’s front window display commemorates its 45th anniversary, its former Golden Swinger Band takes center stage this month in the Center's window.

The band was started by Vera Core in 1979. She was director of the Senior Center at the time and thought a band would be a fun activity for the members.

MMH Concert on the Lawn rescheduled for Aug. 15

Mennonite Memorial Home's Concert on the Lawn, featuring the Lima Area Concert Band, is rescheduled for 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug.15.

The concert was postponed in June due to a weekend of rain. 

The free concert includes free ice cream, popcorn and drinks. All that's needed to attend is to bring your own lawn chair. The concert is on the MMH lawn, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.

Schweingrubers celebrate 50th anniversary July 17

Don and Nancy Schweingruber of Bluffton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary July 17.

Don Schweingruber and the former Nancy Hoeltje met while attending Miami University (OH) and married in 1965 at Willow Grove Presbyterian Church in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. They moved to Bluffton in 1972 when Don was hired as Bluffton College’s Dean of Students.

New market vendor Hibner Family Farm offers assortment of fresh produce

Onions, radishes, carrots, Asian greens, kohlrabi, pea, snow peas, sweet corn and green beans are starting to show up on Saturdays.

One of the suppliers of these fresh produce is first-year Bluffton Farmers’ Market vendor Hibner Family Farm of Wapakoneta. The farm is located in Clay Township of Auglaize County.

Vendor Doris Hibner says that she has five acres of land set aside for farm market produce sales.
