Jocelyn Ochoa is the Icon's artist of the month

Jocelyn Ochoa, a Bluffton High School senior, is the Icon's student artist of the month.

She has taken Art 1 and Design 1, and after high school plans to enroll in nursing school.

"The picture the painting was based on was taken when I went to Hocking Hills with my friend two years ago," she said of the painting she holds.

"We went in the fall, so there was a lot of pretty lighting and I took a lot of pictures of the nature and architecture there.

"I enjoy art because it allows me to express my ideas and it is therapeutic for me."
