BLUFFTON__The Bluffton High School girls soccer team dominated local rival Ada 5-0 in the Div. V Northwest 2 District semifinals at Steinmetz Field on a cool Monday night, October 20.

The fourth-seeded Pirate girls improved to 10-8-1 with the decisive victory. Playing a rugged non-league schedule made the Bluffton squad better than their record might indicate.

Fifth seed Ada ended its season with a 12-5-2 record.

FROM BHS TEXT ALERTS__The Bluffton High School girls soccer team will play the Ada Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20 in a District Semi-Final game.

There will be a 5 p.m. game between Continental and Columbus Grove. The Bluffton-Ada game will start approx. 30 minutes after the first game ends.

COLUMBUS GROVE - The Bluffton High School cross country teams competed in the Div. III Northwest District meet on Saturday, October 18, at Columbus Grove.

The Pirates qualified three boy and three girl runners to the regional meet next weekend. Atticus Prothro, Levin Essinger, Toby Clevidence, Lydia Tarplee, Elizabeth Honse and Tessa Tarplee advanced with solid runs Saturday.

The top six teams and the top 12 individuals not on a qualifying team made it to the regional meet.

NWC showdown at Grove in week 10

HARROD__The visiting Bluffton High School football team romped after a close early battle over local rival Allen East 45-13 in their annual Northwest Conference grudge match on Friday, October 7 at Goodwin Field.

The Pirates reeled off the final 31 points of the contest to pull away from a 14-13 battle and win by 32. AE scored all 13 of its points in the second quarter to keep it close early.

OTTAWA__The Bluffton High School volleyball team eliminated Elmwood in straight sets in the Div. V Northwest sectional finals at Ottawa on Thursday, October 16.

The Pirates improved to 16-7 with the 25-17, 25-17, 29-27 tournament win.

Elmwood fell to 7-15 to end their season after the loss.

Kendall Stackhouse led the victors with 14 kills. Taylin Goldman knocked down nine kills, while Karlie Lora drilled eight kills.

Adelyn Althaus passed out 21 assists, while Camryn Fruchey doled out 14 helpers.
