P-G boys basketball win vs. Hopewell-Loudon

The Pandora-Gilboa High School boys basketball team hosted and defeated Hopewell-Loudon (5-3) 57-42 in a non-conference matchup on December 27.

P-G only trailed once in the game, down 1-0 early, before a 7-0 run gave them a lead they would never relinquish. P-G would go on to lead 9-4 after the first quarter and extended its advantage to 26-13 at the halftime intermission.

BHS girls basketball outlasts Van Buren in OT

Playing at home, the Bluffton High School girls basketball team rallied to beat Van Buren 45-39 in an overtime non-conference battle Tuesday night, December 20.

The Pirates outscored VB 8-2 in the decisive overtime session.

Senior guard Sami Scoles hit five of six foul shots in OT to propel the Pirates to victory.  

Bluffton trailed 11-10 after the first period, and the hosts were down 21-19 at halftime.

Bluffton women's basketball recap, Dec. 20

The Bluffton University women's basketball team used a strong first quarter and an outstanding final stanza to secure the 67-52 non-conference victory over Adrian College on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022. Bluffton improved to 6-3 on the season, while Adrian dipped to 3-7 following the loss.

The Beavers hit 22-of-61 from the field (36.1 percent), but they were outstanding at the stripe, going 18-for-21 (85.7 percent). Bluffton pulled down five more rebounds (44-39) and they forced Adrian into four more miscues (19-15). The Bulldogs finished with a 12-3 edge on fast-break points.

Men’s basketball

KALAMAZOO, Mich.--The Bluffton University men's basketball team hit a pair of late threes before a Kegan Owen (Indianapolis, Ind./Greenwood) buzzer-beater gave the Beavers a 63-62 win at Kalamazoo on Saturday, December 17. Bluffton upped its season mark to 2-6, while Kalamazoo fell to 1-8 on the season.

BHS swim team competes with 81 schools at NW Ohio Classic

11 team records broken; BHS boys finish in top 10

The Bluffton High School swim team competed at the Northwest Ohio Classic Dec. 17, 2022 hosted by Toledo St. Francis De Sales high school. The daylong event began with prelims in Freemont, and 10 of the team’s 16 swimmers qualified for finals that same night at the Bowling Green State University natatorium.

BHS boys 3-point barrage buries Bulldogs

The visiting Bluffton High School boys basketball team put on a three-point shooting display to build a big early lead and romp past local rival Ada 92-45 in a lopsided Northwest Conference game Friday night, December 16.

The red-hot Pirates fired in nine first half three-pointers as they led by 29 points at halftime and cruised to victory. For the game, Bluffton ended up draining a dozen demoralizing treys to bury the Bulldogs.
