Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, being able to stay at home to receive nursing care and therapy services may be a newer thought to some.

Many aging individuals aren’t aware of the insurance benefits they already have that include in-home care. Those with Medicare as their primary insurance are typically covered 100 percent for home care services, as long as certain criteria are met.

Recycle, recycle, recycle

Bluffton Lions Club working behind the scenes

Despite not being able to hold in-person meetings at the moment, Bluffton’s Lions Club continues to work behind the scenes in several efforts in the community.

Here’s an update from the current Lions newsletter of club activities related to recycling: 

• A load of batteries was taken to a  area recycling location by Brandon Matthews. 

• Ed Yeager took 23 pairs of hearing aids to the Findlay Hearing Center. They were extremely grateful and said there a backlog of hospice patients in need of hearing aids.

Now that I have your attention, please be aware that the above questions will be addressed in a Bluffton Public Library Zoom talk at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 9. Presented by Fred Steiner, you will learn some things you never knew about water-related subjects in Bluffton. 

Harvest time coming

Here's what goes into a wheat harvest

If you aren't a farmer, but have always wondered about all the things that go into a crop harvest, this article will provide many of your answers.

Farmers will be harvesting wheat in the next few weeks, seeing the outcome of what they planted nine months ago.  

However, farmers are already taking steps to prepare for the harvest, such as cleaning storage facilities and checking harvesting equipment.

Anne Buller 1925 - 2020

Anne W. Buller, 95, of Bluffton died July 5, 2020. 

She was born June 14, 1925, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Henry P. and Anna (Schultz) Wiebe. When Anne was 14 years the family moved to Mountain Lake, Minnesota.

Anne graduated from Tabor College, Hillsboro, Kansas, majoring in English. Anne and Harold Buller were married on August 22, 1947.
