Larry Hoffman will be a new board member; Jeremy Scoles starts a new 4-year-term

Larry Hoffman will join the Bluffton school board on Monday, as the board reorganizes for 2020. Hoffman was elected to the board in the November general election. He replaces Rene Smith who did not seek reelection.
In addition to Hoffman, Jeremy Scoles, who ran unopposed in November, will be sworn in to another term.
While the election of board officers and making committee appointments for 2020 is on the agenda, the board will also act on a bid for an 84-passenger school bus.
‘Living Through Loss’ Series at Blanchard Valley Hospital

The January presentation of the “Living through Loss” series will be held on Monday, Jan. 20, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and titled “Understanding Depression through Grief.” This presentation will take place in the Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital located at 1900 S. Main St, in Findlay.

Ed Yeager of the Bluffton Lions Club received the Melvin Jones Fellowship award in December from the club.
It is the highest award a Lion can receive in recognition to the member's committment to humanitarian work and service to the community. It is named after Melvin Jones, the founder of Lions.
