Village planning commission meeting Dec. 19

The following public meeting is posted for the Village of Bluffton. 

Planning Commission – Thursday,  Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. to discuss Parkview and State Route 103 zoning.

The meeting will be held at town hall, and is open to the public.

BFR's winter programming full of activities for youth to adults

Bluffton Family Recreation is ready to hang up the 2020 calendar, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.

BFR’s winter newsletter (click here to view the newsletter) lists all the programs available to youth and adults. It all starts with a goodbye to 2019 with a New Year’s Eve party from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Dec. 31.

The party, a family-friendly event, invites participants to wear party gear and come to BFR for crafts, games, music and dancing to finish with a noon countdown.

Greg Stolly files petitions for Allen County Commissioner

Greg Stolly will file his petitions to run for Allen County Commissioner on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at the Allen County Board of Elections.

Stolly is a long-time Allen County businessperson, including marketing development and vice president of the University of Northwestern Ohio and Real Living CCR Realtors, realtor. 

He has served on the boards of Allen County Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center and Lima Central Catholic school board.

"Twas the night before finals"

Okay, it's time for a little fun. Here's this year's Bluffton University "Twas the night before finals," Christmas greeting.

You've watched these in previous years and they seem to improve with each new episode.

Spoiler ending: It involved J. Denny Beaver and Jenny Weaver. The video was created by Emily Dyson, '23. Music is "4 on the Floor Jingle Bells." The video was produced by the Bluffton University Digital Music Lab.

And, if you wait for the end, you'll even see some bloopers.

Sleepers, awake!

The Bluffton elementary Christmas concert is always full of action, and in this case, sleeping. It all depends upon the song being performed. Jamie Nygaard shares several photos of last week's concert in this series.
