Take a look at this Ada classic Cadillac

FROM ADA ICON - Ada held a Park in the Park earlier this month. The Icon will share photos of some of those vehicles that were displayed.

Ada resident Phil Compton apparently wasn't satisfied owning just one Cadillac, so be bought a second. Here's his 1978 Couple Deville on display at this year's Park in the Park. He also owns a 1971 4-door convertible, once owned by Nelson Rockefeller.

Kato back on his police beat

Recertified in June after being on sick leave with a collapsed lung

Here’s the latest on Kato, the Bluffton police department K-9 dog who was on sick leave this spring with a collapsed lung.

Kato returned to work after being medically cleared by the vet. 

He missed his initial recertification with his training group in May due to his illness. 

Once he was cleared, he went to work with Tyler Hochstetler, his police department handler, and rode around in the cruiser, but wasn’t allowed to do anything until he became recertified.

2021 village budget estimated at $4.1 million

General fund listed at $2.5 million

Bluffton council is looking at a projected $4.1 million 2021 village budget. Discussed at the July 27 council meeting, the budget must be approved and sent to the Allen County commissioners by the end of July.

Then, in December, council takes the budget and it becomes 2021 allocations. Several changes could take place in the village financial document between now and the end of the year.

Here are some of the specific budget category expenditures anticipated for 2021:

Clocking at 90 minutes, it is a fun romp that might make you think a little. If nothing else, it’s possibly the best direct-to-video movie we could have hoped for in quarantine

Around the world, people have been practicing varying levels of social distancing since March. Movie theaters closed in mid-March and in some cases have reopened slowly, but with a dearth of new films to offer customers. Major studio releases, particularly TENET, have been pushed back, or in limited cases movies like TROLLS: WORLD TOUR were released directly to Video-on-Demand (VOD).

The summer movie season has seen a drought of good new movies.

Huge response to Dunkin' Donuts announcement

Yesterday's announcement of Dunkin' Donuts moving into the former Burger King property at 499 State Route 103, Bluffton, received a tremendous response from Icon viewers.

After only 19 hours on Facebook, the story reached 35,190 people, had 280 likes, was shared 301 times and had comments from 108 viewers.

And, the numbers on this story continue to climb. It's the largest single story response in 2020 on the Bluffton Icon.
