Cory-Rawson Kindergarten registration held week of Feb. 18-21

Registration for the 2020-2021 Kindergarten classes in the Cory-Rawson Local
School District will be held during the week of Feb. 18-21.

Registration hours will be from 9 –11:30 a.m. and 12:30 –3 p.m. daily.  There will be two evening times available also for registration, Feb. 19 and Feb. 20 from 4 – 6 p.m.

Double-header vs. Anderson on Saturday

The Bluffton University men's basketball team traveled down I-75 to take on the Mount St. Joseph Lions in a mid-week conference clash on Wednesday, Feb.5.

After the visitors took a 12-9 lead on a three-ball from Dezman Brown (Elyria), they never looked back en route to a convincing 66-53 victory. Bluffton improved to 11-9 overall and 7-6 in the Heartland Conference thanks to a third straight win, while MSJ dipped to 4-16 and 2-11 in the HCAC.

Boys' night out tonight

Pirate sports fans recognized 2019 boys' Division III state runner-up

Last week it was girls’ night out. Tonight it’s boys’ night out.

The 2019 Bluffton High School Division III state runner-up boys’ soccer team will be honored during a ceremony tonight (Friday, Feb. 7) during halftime of the high school boys’ basketball game vs. Allen East.

Chili cook-off supports Community Assistance Program

Coordinated by Bluffton Presbyterian mission committee

Several Bluffton churches sponsor a Community Chili Cook-off this month with proceeds benefiting the Bluffton Community Assistance Program.

The cook-off is from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the Bluffton middle school cafetorium, according to Carole Enneking. This is the fourth year of the event. A number of different chili recipes will be available for tasting, provided by individuals and church groups.

Vein experience

Ron Headings was among donors at Thurday's Bluffton American Red Cross blood drive. Despite the wintry weather, nearly 30 donors participated. Headings says he's donated blood since high school and has lost track of the volume of blood he has donated.

Bluffton schools closed

For the second day in a row wintery weather forced Bluffton schools to cancel classes. The announcement was made on Ohio Alerts at 7:55 a.m.
