BHS flag corps returns to the '80s

Will perform Momma Mia routine at county fair competition

It’s a retro year – meaning music from the ‘80s ­­– for the Bluffton High School flag corps, which began practicing this week for the upcoming performance season.

The young group includes five juniors, three sophomores and two freshmen. This year’s corps director is Jackie Bourassa. Captains are Elizabeth Bourassa and Bella Angel.

Signage enhacements coming to Thayer Road and U.S. 30

Intersection scene of accident in January and two within the past month

ODOT is investigating the feasibility of installing an eastbound right turn lane from U.S. 30 onto Thayer Road as well as other alternatives to make the intersection safer.

Signage enhancements at the Thayer Road and U.S. 30 intersection northeast of Lima in Allen County will be made this week to provide additional information to motorists.

Ethan Smith - an Ohio State Fair winner

Ethan Smith, son of Joe and Liz Smith of Bluffton, was chosen to represent Allen County at the Ohio State Fair this year with his project: Focus on photography. 

Ethan is a member of the Beaverdam Bunch. This is his first year in 4-H. He will be a 4th grade student at Bluffton this fall.
