Register for Ride to Remember before June 30 and get in on the early-bird discount

Bluffton’s 2nd annual Ride to Remember bike ride on Saturday, July 16, offers several new features, according to the planning committee.

This year’s ride begins and ends at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool at Main and Snider Road, Bluffton.

Registrations are being accepted at www.ridetoremember.net. A ride flyer in an attachement at the bottom of this story.

The bike event offers several routes, including those for families wanting a biking experience together all the way to serious bikers wanting a 100-mile route.

Six area high school grads receive Lions scholarships

Bluffton Lions Club presented six scholarships to 2016 area high school graduates earlier this month.

Scholarship winners (not in photographed order):
• Bluffton High School: Saraelizabeth Bertka, Maggie Fett and Misha Groman
• Cory-Rawson: Rebecca Schutz
• Pandora-Gilboa: Cole Alexander & Karissa Dorn.

Read me a story, please

There's more to the Bluffton Farmers' Market on Saturday than food. Once a month the Bluffton Public Library offers its storytime at the market. Jessica Hermiller, library director, read to children on Saturday. The next farmers' market storytime is Saturday, July 23.

Apollo board has contract night June 27

The Apollo Career Center board, meeting June 27, will act on several contracts for the 2016-17 school year.

Elementary, my dear Pirate fan

A three-day Pirate football camp for elementary youth concluded on Friday. Nearly 40 future Pirates went through various drills and activities, according to Jeff Richards, BHS varsity coach. Here Kaleb Jefferson, BHS senior, holds the blocking dummy during a offensive drill.
